A set of three Famille Verte and powder blue porcelain baluster vases and covers
Kangxi period 1662-1722 AD, China.
Each vase is decorated with four main panels in Famille Verte enamels depicting figures in a landscape against a white ground, between which four smaller panels at the shoulder show naturalistic scenes of flowers and rockwork. Each cover has a pronounced overhang rising to a dome and surmounted by a bulbous finial, they are decorated with four similar panels to those on the shoulder. The background on the vases and covers is in powder blue highlighting the white of the panels, this blue is further decorated with gilded designs of flowers in panels against the ground of scrolling vines and flower heads.
