A rare pair of cloisonné enamel horses

Each horse with white coats and dark dappling, stand fore square looking slightly to the left and right respectively, the elaborate saddles decorated with a profusion of colours and designs. Bell horse trappings encircle the animals to the front and back, a pendant bell beneath each neck and gilt wire reins. Each animal is solidly modelled, with fine wire work and of a satisfying weight. The hooves and tails are gilt metal.
